The son of a Pearl Harbor Survivor, David A. Manzi was born on a Naval base in Patuxent River, Maryland. When his father retired after 20 years of service, the family settled in New Haven, Connecticut. As a second generation immigrant, David learned early the value of hard work and determination, especially from his Grandfather who had come to the United States alone at the age of 18. While attending Notre Dame High School, David obtained a part-time job at Yale University’s Computer Center.
Following his high school graduation, David continued to work for Yale while attending Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. After obtaining his B.S. in Business Administration, David went on to pursue a M.S. in Computer and Information Science at the University of New Haven, while working full-time at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut as a Computer Analyst. It was at Blue Cross and Blue Shield that David met his wife, Patricia, and they were married in 1980. Shortly after their marriage, David obtained a position with AT&T and he and Patricia began a 15 year journey that would bring them for a short time to New Jersey and eventually to San Diego, California.
