Kevin M. Phillips

Kevin Michael Phillips is an attorney with Schiller & Hamilton Law Firm, where he is dedicated to providing skilled, compassionate, and community-minded legal representation to clients across the Lowcountry. Originally from Snellville, Georgia, Kevin earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law.

Kevin’s legal career reflects a deep commitment to public service and the people he represents. In addition to his work as an attorney, he has been actively involved in local government and civic leadership. He was elected to the Port Royal Town Council in 2019 and ran for Mayor in 2023, driven by his belief in responsible growth, local engagement, and strengthening community connections.

A resident of Port Royal, Kevin is proud to raise his two young daughters with his wife in the same community he serves. Whether in the courtroom or the council chamber, Kevin brings integrity, diligence, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those around him.

EXPERIENCE

Kevin previously worked for the South Carolina Victim Assistance Network, where he focused on Victim’s Rights Enforcement in multiple legal arenas. It was here Kevin learned the importance of standing up for those our legal system seeks to shut out.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Kevin constantly strives to make the environment around him a better place, and community engagement is something he truly enjoys. During his short time in Beaufort he has graduated from the leadership Beaufort Program, Class of 2018, he sits on the Board of the local Beaufort-Jasper YMCA, and most recently was elected in November, 2019 to the Town Council of Port Royal.
